DirectionsThe main road from Liverpool to Aintree is the A59 (known colloquially as the Ormskirk Road as it passes through Aintree). The M57, M58, A59 and A5036 all meet at a complex junction called Switch Island, located between Aintree and Maghull.
Aintree Village is actually closer to the Old Roan railway station than Aintree railway station itself. The Holy Rosary RC Church is just a short walk from Old Roan railway station.
There are also regular bus services through the village serving Liverpool and destinations to the north including Maghull, Ormskirk and Southport that stop near the Old Roan.
